Blanca Valcarce Quiroga

“Painting for me is another way of living. It is a separate dimension where I develop my creativity and, above all, a shield against the difficulties of life. It is an intimate space between you and the colors that no one can hinder.”

Some of Blanca’s works revolve around the naked body of the woman and her intimacy, as she would say: “plain and simple, without artifice”. Sometimes the woman’s body appears alone and sometimes it is accompanied by symbols such as butterflies and dragonflies, elements that the author considers feminine. The intimate and femininity are themes that the artist has explored during the First Artistic Residencies, always through a look focused on the intensity of color and its combinations.

Blanca conceives the artistic process as a lifelong learning process that takes place through daily practice. She shows special interest in still life painting and has been inspired by works of artists she admires and of which she makes her personal interpretation.
