“What I like most about the workshop is drawing houses, people and faces. I like the silence and that there are no noises.”
Manuel’s creative process is based on order and repetition. Throughout his works he concentrates on the shape of objects by systematically repeating this shape along rows and columns.
He begins his compositions by choosing a certain area from which he builds the rest of the figure. Always from the detail to the whole, which gradually fills with color. He began drawing flowers, houses and geometric figures. However, he has also opened his interest to the representation of people, nudes and portraits.
Manuel has belonged to Debajo del Sombrero since 2017, having carried out his works in workshops at Matadero, La Casa Encendida and the Faculty of Fine Arts at the Complutense University of Madrid.
